Before Kerastraight Brazilian treatment

This innovative process transforms the hair in its entirety by coating the hair shaft with the hairs primary protein Keratin. This natural substance gives hair the ability to return to its original healthy, shiny, smooth state – humidity, rain or sweat will no longer affect your hairstyle. Unlike other products available on the market, such as relaxers or Japanese thermal conditioning, the Brazilian permanent blow dry straightens the hair without damaging it and actually improves the texture.

KeraStraight is suitable for all hair types including coloured, highly lightened, bleached, permed, very dry & on virgin hair.

This treatment can be used on all hair types, including chemically treated hair (coloured, permed, relaxed, highlighted and bleached). “This is the perfect treatment for someone who uses a blow dryer and straighteners on their hair regularly.

The application takes anywhere from 1 ½ to 4 hours depending on the length and thickness of the hair. The results last two to four months and the treatment fades progressively as the hair is washed.

Hair after KeraStraight Brazilian treament

KeraStraight is long lasting – up to 4 months, gradually fading from the hair.

As clients repeat the treatment every few months, they will see an improvement in the quality of the hair growth after the keratin treatment was applied. We recommend a consultation with one of our Stylists before your appointment.

Consultations are free and usually last around 15 minutes. During the consultation we also will perform a skin test to make sure that you are not allergic and you will then be asked to wait 48 hours before you can have the straightening appointment. Your Stylist at the consultation will quote the cost and length of time the appointment will take.

Can KeraStraight be applied on chemically treated hair?

Yes, the Keratin Treatment will not damage the hair and can be applied to all hair types, including virgin, coloured, highlighted or permed.

Can KeraStraight be applied on top of permed, relaxed or straightened hair?

Yes, KeraStraight can be applied to ANY hair over ANY previous chemical treatment.

Is this treatment a permanent straightener?

No, KeraStraight is based on Keratin, the hair’s natural protein and will gradually fade out over time.

When can I Colour my hair?

It’s best to colour your hair prior to the KeraStraight process 2 days before or 2 days after the treatment.

How long does the treatment keep the hair treated?

It will last up to 4 months, depending on the hair type. The treatment lasts longest on chemically treated hair like coloured or relaxed. On virgin hair the results will last longer after the second or third application.

How long should I wait before washing my hair after the KS complex treatment?

Once the service is complete you can shampoo your hair as normal on the same day, and you can use styling products as you normally would. However if stylist may recommend a new product to best suit your newly repaired and straightened hair.

How long does the process take?

Usually between 2-4 hours depending on hair length & type.

What shampoo must be used before and after the treatment?

Before the treatment, we recommend using KeraStraight Pre-Treatment Cleanser and after the treatment, use KeraStraight Straight Maintain Shampoo & KeraStraight Straight Maintain Conditioner. These products are Sodium Chloride free (which would strip the Keratin from the hair) and help to maximise the longevity of KeraStraight. However you can also use some of the shampoos in the Philip Kingsley range if that’s what you prefer.

When should I have my next KeraStraight Treatment?

After 2-4 months or as needed.

Can I have the treatment every month?

Yes,  However you must wait 30 days from your first treatment.

Will swimming affect my KeraStraight treatment?

No, as long as you shampoo your hair directly after swimming, to remove any chlorine or salt from the hair.

I have a water softener will this affect my KeraStraight treatment?

We have been told by KeraStraight  that this does not affect the KeraStraight treatment in any way.

Does KeraStraight contain formaldehyde?
